A Welcome from our New Chairperson
Welcome to the 12th edition of our newsletter. My name is Tom Preddle and I had the privilege of taking over earlier this year as Chairperson from Dave Mowbray, who has done a wonderful job. I feel it is a great honour to have been asked. My wife Gigi (from Southern Leyte) and I are old friends of Florencia and so when she asked me, I was delighted to say yes. Bambang is a tremendous project, which does such valuable and life-changing work. As to myself, I have done many and varied jobs during my working life and at present I am working part-time at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Westminster. If you were at our recent fundraising dinner at the Inshoku Restaurant you would have seen me, as I was the quizmaster asking those fiendishly difficult questions in the music quiz. Few of which, I have to say, I could have answered if I had not had the answers in front of me - in addition to which I am more or less tone deaf. Still it was a great evening, in a good cause of which I am pleased to be able to help.
